when I run dbv everytime I get
Total Pages Marked Corrupt : n
where n is always higher than 0 ... even when I have just finished creating the database there are pages marked corrupt in my datafiles. What does it mean exactly?

DBV is designed to be run when the database is closed, however you can run it when the database is open.
However, that dbv may report errors on blocks which are currently being updated due to the block being in-flux. (Pointed out by Jim Overy :) few posts back.)
A "Good" practice is to run dbverify against files that are from a hotbackup. In the hotbackup script run dbverify.
