marked for kill

Hi gurus,
Is there anyway I can expedite the killing of a session
ORA 00031-Marked for kill ?
The doc says running the alter system kill session command a few more times may kill it earlier.

Is there any way else?

Depending on which O/S you are using the associated process/thread for the connection can be terminated.
