question for 9i

i don't understand 9i somes says it's a new databases somes says that it's only application server based on 8i can someone help me

Hi,
Oracle featured the Oracle9i IAS - Application Server.
This is a suite if products enabling developers to develop applications better. At this point the suite is comprised of 9iAS and 8i database.
Oracle will deliver 9i database in the next few months.

Where can we find infos about the 9 i database if this infos exist. we are in the way of developping a new applicvation and it would be good to know if there are some good stuf on 9i database for us.
