We have the ability but no work !

Hi

I write this message with a sense of mild amusement and some desperation ! Hence any advice given would be gladly accepted.

We are a team of Oracle professionals based in Ireland, which is in the process of completing a number of projects and is looking for more offsite work. Our skills include project management, DB Administration, Rdb Analysis, Rdb Design, SQL, PL/SQL, Developer2000 (Forms, Reports), Designer2000, Java, Perl, etc.

That is the good news ! The bad news is that we are finding it extremely difficult to source off-site work. Where is all the work ?

We have no designated sales team. When we source a project all our efforts are focussed on the project until it is time to find more work. Are we too honest in our approach ? How should we go about sourcing work ? Are there professionals / agencies etc. that could find the projects on our behalf etc.

We are in 21st century. In this modern world (Internet wordl?) even a small pen needs very good advertisement probably with Miss World.

Coming to the point what you need a good marketing team who can sell your tech efforts to the outside world. Focus your business areas with certain segments, for example Automobiles, Medicine, Insurances, Internet etc or where ever you are strong.

Try to work with some good US companies. Search on the Web for new business opportunities.
