We've got an Delphi application that runs against an Oracle 8i database. We use long raws to store word documents that are retrieved by the application when needed. We tried zipping the documents and got a 75% reduction of our database size. Before we start of to modify all our store/retrieve routines I was curious if database size matters performance wise? Any comments, suggestions?
